Two new headers were added: one for I2C drivers that are only used
by V4L2 drivers converted to the new bus-based I2C API, and one that
can be used by both converted and unconverted drivers (at the expense of
some additional overhead).
To support the legacy I2C API a helper function was added to v4l2-common.c.
These headers take care of all the 'boilerplate' code that all V4L2 I2C drivers
have in common and will automatically support the bus-based I2C API introduced
in kernel 2.6.22.

Currently, the only tuner-specific device that allows special

special configurations (for example, to specify a different Xtal freq).
This patch replaces TDA9887_SET_CONFIG by a more generic internal ioctl
(TUNER_SET_CONFIG). The newer one allows specifying what tuner is
appliable to a configuration set, and allows an arbitrary configuration

converted many files to use the scatter gather helpers without ensuring
that the necessary headerfile <linux/scatterlist> is included. This
happened to work for ia64, powerpc, sparc64 and x86 because they
happened to drag in that file via their <asm/dma-mapping.h>.
On most of the others this probably broke.
Instead of increasing the header file spider web I choose to include
<linux/scatterlist.h> directly into the affectes files.

struct video_device used to define a .hardware field. While
initialized on severl drivers, this field is never used inside V4L.
However, drivers using it need to include the old V4L1 header.
This seems to cause compilation troubles with some random configs.

In the past, videobuf_queue_init were used to initialize PCI DMA videobuffers.
This patch renames it, to avoid confusion with the previous kernel API, doing:

Also, the operations is now part of the function parameter. The function will
also add a test if this is defined, otherwise producing BUG.

Add radio support for the Thomson DTT7612 tuner.
This tuner uses a different 1st intermediate frequency than the other radio
tuners supported (a lot of NTSC radio tuners probably need this change too).
Add a new tuner-simple parameter, radio_if. It selects the 1st IF used for
radio reception. The radio frequency setting code in tuner-simple now uses
this field, instead of a special case select() block for each tuner with radio
support.
The tuner parameters for tuners that used a 33.3 MHz RIF now set radio_if to 1
in tuner-types.c.
The Thomson DTT7612 gets radio_if = 2, also add has_tda9887 = 1 and
fm_gain_normal = 1.
Add some defines for tda9887 bits that control IF setting in radio mode.
Add a new tda9887 config option, TDA9887_RIF_41_3, that selects a 41.3 MHz
radio IF.
Fix the way tda9887 radio options work. The driver was modifying the default
radio mode config templates based on the TDA9887_XXXX flags. This means that
_all_ tuners would get the same settings. If you had a one tuner than used
TDA9887_GAIN_NORMAL and one that didn't, both would get the setting. Now the
tda9987 driver just checks if tuner mode is radio and then applies the config
settings directly to the data being sent, just like how all the TV mode
settings already work.
The PLL setting math is made a little more accurate.
And a grammar error in a printk is fixed.

Before this patch, vivi were simulating a scatter gather DMA transfer.
While this is academic, showing how stuff really works on a real PCI
device, this means a non-optimized code.
There are only two memory models that vivi implements:
1) kernel alloced memory. This is also used by read() method.
On this case, a vmalloc32 buffer is allocated at kernel;
2) userspace allocated memory. This is used by most userspace apps.
video-buf will store this pointer.
a simple copy_to_user is enough to transfer data.
The third memory model scenario supported by video-buf is overlay mode.
This model is not implemented on vivi and unlikely to be implemented on
newer drivers, since now, most userspace apps do some post-processing
(like de-interlacing).
After this patch, some cleanups may be done at video-buf.c to avoid
allocating pages, when the driver doesn't need a PCI buffer. This is the
case of vivi and usb drivers.

VIDIOC_INT_[SG]_REGISTER is renamed to VIDIOC_DBG_[SG]_REGISTER
Definition of ioctl and struct v4l2_register is moved from v4l2-common.h
to videodev2.h.
Types used in struct v4l2_register are changed to the userspace
exportable versions (u32 -> __u32, etc).
Use of VIDIOC_DBG_S_REGISTER requires CAP_SYS_ADMIN permission, so move
the check into the video_ioctl2() dispatcher so it doesn't need to be
duplicated in each driver's call-back function. CAP_SYS_ADMIN check is

For example, a driver may ask for V4L2_STD_PAL. At return,
driver may change it to V4L2_STD_PAL_B. This way, a futher call
to G_STD will return the exact detected video std.

All radio devices use an obsolete mode of opening/release driver.
Since this is not V4L1 core, better to keep the method available for more
time than to rewrite open/release without a radio device to test, since the
newer method is much more complex than the previous one (although providing
support for multiple opens and multiple devices).

V4L1 support should be disabled when no CONFIG_VIDEO_V4L1_COMPAT is defined,
to allow checking for broken V4L2 ports. This is very important during the
migration phase for V4L2 API.
However, userspace apps should be capable of using both APIs, since they need
to test at runtime, via VIDIOCGCAP ioctl, if V4L1 is supported. So, when
__KERNEL__ is not defined, those ioctls and corresponding structs should be
visible.
This patch also removes the obsolete defines HAVE_V4L1 and HAVE_V4L2, that
where causing some confusion, and were replaced by CONFIG_VIDEO_V4L1_COMPAT
and CONFIG_VIDEO_V4L2.

Check __must_check warnings for class_device_register and class_device_create_file
video_device_create_file was declared as a void, but instead should
return the int value of class_device_create_file.
Move the check from bttv-driver.c into v4l2-dev.h, because all other
callers of video_device_create_file must also be checked.
Replace the call to class_device_create_file in videodev.c with
video_device_create_file, as defined in v4l2-dev.h, so that the
return value of class_device_create_file will be checked.
Check the return value of class_device_register in videodev.c and
pvrusb2-sysfs.c

Most uses a tda988[5/6/7] IF demodulator as part of the device.
Having this as a separate stuff makes harder to configure it, since there
are some tda9887 options that are tuner-dependent and should be bound into
tuner-types structures.
This patch merges tda9887 module into tuner. More work is required to make
tuner-types to properly use it.
