3298a3511f arm-soc: multiplatform support
Converting more ARM platforms to multiplatform support. This time, OMAP
gets converted, which is a major step since this is by far the largest
platform in terms of code size. The same thing happens to the vt8500
 platform.

 Conflicts include:
 * Two mach/uncompress.h files are removed, the changes made to them
   elsewhere can be discarded now.
 * Moving the OMAP4 irq_match array has context clashes with turning
   omap4_sar_ram_init into an omap_early_initcall()

 * Moving the u300 DMA controller driver to drivers/dma
 * Moving versatile express drivers out of arch/arm for sharing with arch/arm64

the mach/id.h header and the cpu_is_u8500_family() function in it are
 now gone.

7ae1c76ee5 arm-soc: pin muxing for sh-mobile
This is another cleanup series, containing the move of the Renesas
SH-Mobile pin controller code from arch/arm/mach-shmobile over to the
generic pinctrl subsystem, changing it over to the common interfaces in
 the process.

Based on agreement between Olof, Paul Mundt, Linus Walleij and Simon,
we're merging this large branch of pinctrl conversion through arm-soc,
even though it contains the corresponding conversions for arch/sh. Main
reason for this is tight dependencies (that will now mostly be broken)
between the arch/sh and mach-shmobile implementations.

There will be more of this in 3.10 to do device-tree bindings, but this
 is the initial conversion.

b274776c54 arm-soc: cleanups
A large number of cleanups, all over the platforms. This is dominated
largely by the Samsung platforms (s3c, s5p, exynos) and a few of the
others moving code out of arch/arm into more appropriate subsystems.
The clocksource and irqchip drivers are now abstracted to the point
where platforms that are already cleaned up do not need to even specify
the driver they use, it can all get configured from the device tree
as we do for normal device drivers. The clocksource changes basically
touch every single platform in the process.

We further clean up the use of platform specific header files here,
with the goal of turning more of the platforms over to being
"multiplatform" enabled, which implies that they cannot expose
their headers to architecture independent code any more.

It is expected that no functional changes are part of the cleanup.
The overall reduction in total code lines is mostly the result of
 removing broken and obsolete code.

b24174b0cb arm-soc: non-critical bug fixes
Bug fixes that did not make it into v3.8, mostly because they were not
considered important enough, and in some cases because bugs only show
up in combination with other patches destined for 3.9.
This includes a few larger patches for GPIO on the Marvell PXA platform
and a lot of Samsung specific bug fixes, as well as a series from Arnd
 to fix older build warnings.

460dc1eecf Sound updates for 3.9-rc1
The biggest change in this update is the unification of HD-audio codec
parsers. Now the HD-audio codec is parsed in a generic parser code
which is invoked by each HD-audio codec driver. Some background
information is found in David Henningsson's blog entry:
   http://voices.canonical.com/david.henningsson/2013/01/18/upcoming-changes-to-the-intel-hda-drivers/

Other than that, some random updates/fixes like USB-audio and a bunch
of small AoC updates as usual.

 Highlights:

 - Unification of HD-audio parser code (aka generic parser)

 - Support of new Intel HD-audio controller, new IDT codecs

 - Fixes for HD-audio HDMI audio hotplug

 - Haswell HDMI audio fixup

 - Support of Creative CA0132 DSP code

 - A few fixes of HDSP driver

 - USB-audio fix for Roland A-PRO, M-Audio FT C600

 - Support PM for aloop driver (and fixes Oops)

 - Compress API updates for gapless playback support

 For ASoC part:

 - Support for a wider range of hardware in the compressed stream code

 - The ability to mute capture streams as well as playback streams while
   inactive

 - DT support for AK4642, FSI, Samsung I2S and WM8962

 - AC'97 support for Tegra

 - New driver for max98090, replacing the stub which was there

 - A new driver from Dialog

Note that due to dependencies, DTification of DMA support for Samsung
platforms (used only by the and I2S driver and SPI) is merged here as
 well.

69dde4c52d ARM: 7654/1: Preserve L_PTE_VALID in pte_modify()
Following commit 26ffd0d4 (ARM: mm: introduce present, faulting entries
for PAGE_NONE), if a page has been mapped as PROT_NONE, the L_PTE_VALID
bit is cleared by the set_pte_ext() code. With LPAE the software and
hardware pte share the same location and subsequent modifications of pte
range (change_protection()) will leave the L_PTE_VALID bit cleared.

This patch adds the L_PTE_VALID bit to the newprot mask in pte_modify().

70264367a2 ARM: 7653/2: do not scale loops_per_jiffy when using a constant delay clock
When udelay() is implemented using an architected timer, it is wrong
to scale loops_per_jiffy when changing the CPU clock frequency since
the timer clock remains constant.

The lpj should probably become an implementation detail relevant to
the CPU loop based delay routine only and more confined to it. In the
mean time this is the minimal fix needed to have expected delays with
the timer based implementation when cpufreq is also in use.

 2) VMWARE VM VSOCK layer, from Andy King.

 3) Much improved support for virtual functions and SR-IOV in bnx2x,
    from Ariel ELior.

 4) All protocols on ipv4 and ipv6 are now network namespace aware, and
all the compatability checks for initial-namespace-only protocols is
removed. Thanks to Tom Parkin for helping deal with the last major
    holdout, L2TP.

 5) IPV6 support in netpoll and network namespace support in pktgen,

 6) Multiple Registration Protocol (MRP) and Multiple VLAN Registration
Protocol (MVRP) support, from David Ward.

 7) Compute packet lengths more accurately in the packet scheduler, from
    Eric Dumazet.

 8) Use per-task page fragment allocator in skb_append_datato_frags(),
    also from Eric Dumazet.

 9) Add support for connection tracking labels in netfilter, from
    Florian Westphal.

10) Fix default multicast group joining on ipv6, and add anti-spoofing
checks to 6to4 and 6rd. From Hannes Frederic Sowa.

11) Make ipv4/ipv6 fragmentation memory limits more reasonable in modern
times, rearrange inet frag datastructures for better cacheline
locality, and move more operations outside of locking. From Jesper
    Dangaard Brouer.

12) Instead of strict master <--> slave relationships, allow arbitrary
scenerios with "upper device lists". From Jiri Pirko.

13) Improve rate limiting accuracy in TBF and act_police, also from Jiri
    Pirko.

14) Add a BPF filter netfilter match target, from Willem de Bruijn.

15) Orphan and delete a bunch of pre-historic networking drivers from
    Paul Gortmaker.

16) Add TSO support for GRE tunnels, from Pravin B SHelar. Although
this still needs some minor bug fixing before it's %100 correct in
    all cases.

17) Handle unresolved IPSEC states like ARP, with a resolution packet
    queue. From Steffen Klassert.

18) Remove TCP Appropriate Byte Count support (ABC), from Stephen

10b6339e93 The common clock framework changes for 3.9 are almost entirely fixes.
None are dire enough to be Cc'd to stable which may be interpreted to
mean that users of the framework are reaching stability. Lots of new
adoption of this framework is via DeviceTree data and that comes through
the respective architecture and platform trees instead of through the
clk framework tree. Two new features are improved debugfs output and an
improvement to how DT clocks are initialized by reusing a common method.

3216dceb31 xen: introduce xen_remap, use it instead of ioremap
ioremap can't be used to map ring pages on ARM because it uses device
memory caching attributes (MT_DEVICE*).

Introduce a Xen specific abstraction to map ring pages, called
xen_remap, that is defined as ioremap on x86 (no behavioral changes).
On ARM it explicitly calls __arm_ioremap with the right caching
attributes: MT_MEMORY.

Pull irq core changes from Ingo Molnar:
"The biggest changes are the IRQ-work and printk changes from Frederic
Weisbecker, which prepare the code for 'full dynticks' (the ability to
stop or slow down the periodic tick arbitrarily, not just in idle time
  as today):

   - Don't stop tick with irq works pending. This fix is generally
useful and concerns archs that can't raise self IPIs.

   - Flush irq works before CPU offlining.

   - Introduce "lazy" irq works that can wait for the next tick to be
     executed, unless it's stopped.

   - Implement klogd wake up using irq work. This removes the ad-hoc
printk_tick()/printk_needs_cpu() hooks and make it working even in
     dynticks mode.

   - Cleanups and fixes."

89dfe564b5 ARM: tegra: common clock framework fixes
A number of small fixes are included to the new Tegra common clock
driver. These are: Missing locking, definition of device tree clock IDs
not matching the binding, a static cleanup, missing initialization of
 some UART clocks.

This branch is based on Tegra's previous pull request tegra-for-3.9-dt.
This dependency is caused by the one patch that edits the device tree.
If this causes a problem, I can drop the final two patches in this pull
request for now, and rebase it onto previous tegra-for-3.9-soc-ccf
 instead.

6e7f7cfce2 These changes contain the OMAP USB related platform data changes
that were dropped from linux next because of the merge conflicts
as requested by me and Olof. The reason was that at this point
we really should be able to do the arch/arm related changes

These patches were initially part of the USB related MFD patches.
Based on our comments, Roger Quadros quickly reworked these

9520a5bece ARM: 7649/1: mm: mm->context.id fix for big-endian
Since the new ASID code in b5466f8728
("ARM: mm: remove IPI broadcasting on ASID rollover") was changed to
use 64bit operations it has broken the BE operation due to an issue
with the MM code accessing sub-fields of mm->context.id.

When running in BE mode we see the values in mm->context.id are stored
with the highest value first, so the LDR in the arch/arm/mm/proc-macros.S
reads the wrong part of this field. To resolve this, change the LDR in
the mmid macro to load from +4.

101eeda38c ARM: 7646/1: mm: use static_vm for managing static mapped areas
A static mapped area is ARM-specific, so it is better not to use
generic vmalloc data structure, that is, vmlist and vmlist_lock
for managing static mapped area. And it causes some needless overhead and
reducing this overhead is better idea.

Now, we have newly introduced static_vm infrastructure.
With it, we don't need to iterate all mapped areas. Instead, we just
iterate static mapped areas. It helps to reduce an overhead of finding
matched area. And architecture dependency on vmalloc layer is removed,
so it will help to maintainability for vmalloc layer.

ed8fd2186a ARM: 7645/1: ioremap: introduce an infrastructure for static mapped area
In current implementation, we used ARM-specific flag, that is,
VM_ARM_STATIC_MAPPING, for distinguishing ARM specific static mapped area.
The purpose of static mapped area is to re-use static mapped area when
entire physical address range of the ioremap request can be covered
by this area.

This implementation causes needless overhead for some cases.
For example, assume that there is only one static mapped area and
vmlist has 300 areas. Every time we call ioremap, we check 300 areas for
deciding whether it is matched or not. Moreover, even if there is
no static mapped area and vmlist has 300 areas, every time we call
ioremap, we check 300 areas in now.

If we construct a extra list for static mapped area, we can eliminate
above mentioned overhead.
With a extra list, if there is one static mapped area,
we just check only one area and proceed next operation quickly.

In fact, it is not a critical problem, because ioremap is not frequently
used. But reducing overhead is better idea.

Another reason for doing this work is for removing architecture dependency
on vmalloc layer. I think that vmlist and vmlist_lock is internal data
structure for vmalloc layer. Some codes for debugging and stat inevitably
use vmlist and vmlist_lock. But it is preferable that they are used
as least as possible in outside of vmalloc.c

Now, I introduce an ARM-specific infrastructure for static mapped area. In
the following patch, we will use this and resolve above mentioned problem.

The omap multiplatform support uncovered a bug in the cwdavinci_cpdma

There is also a conflict generated by automated merge in
arch/arm/mach-omap2/drm.c between a bug fix that went into v3.8-rc5

fa5ce5f94c ARM: w90x900: fix legacy assembly syntax
New ARM binutils don't allow extraneous whitespace inside
of brackets, which causes this error on all mach-w90x900

a5d533ee07 ARM: disable virt_to_bus/virt_to_bus almost everywhere
We are getting a number of warnings about the use of the deprecated
bus_to_virt function in drivers using the ARM ISA DMA API:

drivers/parport/parport_pc.c: In function 'parport_pc_fifo_write_block_dma':
drivers/parport/parport_pc.c:622:3: warning: 'bus_to_virt' is deprecated
(declared at arch/arm/include/asm/memory.h:253) [-Wdeprecated-declarations]

This is only because that function gets used by the inline
set_dma_addr() helper. We know that any driver for the ISA DMA API
is correctly using the DMA addresses, so we can change this
to use the __bus_to_virt() function instead, which does not warn.

After this, there are no remaining drivers that are used on
any defconfigs on ARM using virt_to_bus or bus_to_virt, with
the exception of the OSS sound driver. That driver is only used
on RiscPC, NetWinder and Shark, so we can set ARCH_NO_VIRT_TO_BUS
on all other platforms and hide the deprecated functions, which
is far more effective than marking them as deprecated, in order
to avoid any new users of that code.

801e6a01d1 ARM: kirkwood: add missing include for nsa310
Patch 92cb7625 "ARM: kirkwood: nsa310: cleanup includes and
unneeded code" was a little too quick, since there is still
an I2C_BOARD_INFO left in this file at the moment. Once
that is gone and replaced by a DT description of the devices,
the inclusion can be removed again

Without this patch, building kirkwood_defconfig results in:

b0db321ba1 ARM: prima2: fix __init section for cpu hotplug
The code in arch/arm/mach-prima2/headsmp.S is used for
both boot time initialization and for cpu hotplug,
so it must not be discarded after the initial boot
is complete. This replaces the __INIT annotation
with __CPUINIT, and marks the sirfsoc_cpu_die as
__ref to annotate that it correctly uses the sections.

Without this patch, building prima2_defconfig results in:

WARNING: arch/arm/mach-prima2/built-in.o(.cpuinit.text+0x130): Section mismatch in reference from the function sirfsoc_boot_secondary() to the function .init.text:sirfsoc_secondary_startup()
The function __cpuinit sirfsoc_boot_secondary() references
a function __init sirfsoc_secondary_startup().
If sirfsoc_secondary_startup is only used by sirfsoc_boot_secondary then
annotate sirfsoc_secondary_startup with a matching annotation.

Let's have a single platform data structure for the OMAP's High-Speed

8364f5d965 ARM: tegra: remove clock-frequency properties from serial nodes
Currently, the serial nodes define both a clock-frequency and a clocks
property. We should not provide both, since they might conflict.

In practice, this also causes problems since the of_serial driver uses
the clock-frequency property in preference to the clocks property, and
hence doesn't clk_prepare_enable() the clock, which may then leave it
with no known users, and hence the common clock framework will disable
it, thus breaking the port, which is usually the console.

a900e5d997 ARM: exynos: move exynos4210-combiner to drivers/irqchip
Exynos boot is broken with commit 0529e315 (ARM: use common irqchip_init
for GIC init). This commit split the irqchip initialization into 2 calls
to of_irq_init. This does not work because of_irq_init requires interrupt
parents to be in the match list.

Rather than reverting exynos changes, make it do the proper thing by using
IRQCHIP_DECLARE. This requires moving the combiner code to drivers/irqchip.

6efc3fe0f4 ARM: OMAP2+: fix some omap_device_build() calls that aren't compiled by default
Commit c1d1cd597f ("ARM: OMAP2+:
omap_device: remove obsolete pm_lats and early_device code") missed a
few omap_device_build() calls that aren't included as part of the default
OMAP2+ Kconfig, omap2plus_defconfig.

Ideally, all devices that are present on the SoC should be created by
default, and only the corresponding device driver should be configured
or deconfigured in Kconfig. This allows drivers to be built as
modules and loaded later, even if they weren't part of the original
kernel build. Unfortunately, we're not quite there yet.

Thanks to Tony Lindgren for reporting this, found during his
randconfig tests.

05ec260ede mfd: db8500-prcmu: update resource passing
When trying to get rid of the cross-includes of <mach/id.h>
from different drivers, so we can localize ASIC/CPU detection
to the mach-ux500 folder, we run into the way the PRCMU
handles base addresses and firmware detection.

This patch updates the firmware version detection to pass
the required information as platform data instead of
relying on cpu_is_* macros.

Now the PRCMU base address, the secondary TCDM area, the
TCPM area and the IRQ are passed as resources instead of
being grabbed from <mach/*> files. Incidentally this also
removes part of the reliance on <mach/irqs.h>.

Further it updates the firmware version detection, since the
location of the firmware ID bytes in the designated memory
are is now passed from the platform data instead. There is
no reason not to include the nice split-off of a struct to
hold the firmware information and a separate function to
populate it.

The patch actually rids the need to use the external
db8500_prcmu_early_init call at all, but I'm keepin back
that removal as I don't want the patch to be too big.

From Dinh Nguyen, this is a series of patches introducing support for
socfpga hardware (Altera Cyclone5). It also includes a cleanup that
moves some of the ARMv7 cache maintenance functions to a common location,
since three other platforms aready implemented it separately.

* socfpga/hw:
arm: socfpga: Add SMP support for actual socfpga harware
  arm: Add v7_invalidate_l1 to cache-v7.S
arm: socfpga: Add entries to enable make dtbs socfpga

msm_smd_probe is a driver probe function and may get
called after the __init time, so it must not call

Take away the __init annotation on proc_comm_boot_wait

Without this patch, building msm_defconfig results in:

The function msm_smd_probe() references

3401d54696 KVM: ARM: Introduce KVM_ARM_SET_DEVICE_ADDR ioctl
On ARM some bits are specific to the model being emulated for the guest and
user space needs a way to tell the kernel about those bits. An example is mmio
device base addresses, where KVM must know the base address for a given device
to properly emulate mmio accesses within a certain address range or directly
map a device with virtualiation extensions into the guest address space.

We make this API ARM-specific as we haven't yet reached a consensus for a
generic API for all KVM architectures that will allow us to do something like
this.

If we want load epoch_cyc and epoch_ns atomically,
we should update epoch_cyc_copy first of all.
This notify reader that updating is in progress.

If we update epoch_cyc first like as current implementation,
there is subtle error case.
Look at the below example.

<Initial Condition>
cyc = 9
ns = 900
cyc_copy = 9

== CASE 1 ==
<CPU A = reader> <CPU B = updater>
                           write cyc = 10
read cyc = 10
read ns = 900
                           write ns = 1000
                           write cyc_copy = 10
read cyc_copy = 10

output = (10, 900)

== CASE 2 ==
<CPU A = reader> <CPU B = updater>
read cyc = 9
                           write cyc = 10
                           write ns = 1000
read ns = 1000
read cyc_copy = 9
                           write cyc_copy = 10
output = (9, 1000)

If atomic read is ensured, output should be (9, 900) or (10, 1000).
But, output in example case are not.

So, change updating sequence in order to correct this problem.

non-CLKCTRL-based functional clock. These are being removed from the
clock data, since they should be handled by the IP block integration
code. Without this change, the kernel crashes during boot. Thanks to
Tony Lindgren for reporting this during a test merge.

c02060d869 ARM: OMAP4+: AESS: enable internal auto-gating during initial setup
Enable the AESS auto-gating control bit during AESS hwmod setup. This
fixes the following boot warning on OMAP4:

omap_hwmod: aess: _wait_target_disable failed

Without this patch, the AESS IP block does not indicate to the PRCM
that it is idle after it is reset. This prevents some types of SoC
power management until something sets the auto-gating control bit.

6d266f63a1 ARM: OMAP2+: hwmod: add enable_preprogram hook
After setup/enable, some IP blocks need some additional setting to
indicate the PRCM that they are inactive until they are configured.
Some examples on OMAP4 include the AESS and FSUSB IP blocks.

To fix this cleanly, this patch adds another optional function
pointer, enable_preprogram, to the IP block's hwmod data. The function
that is pointed to is called by the hwmod code immediately after the
IP block is reset.

This version of the patch includes a patch description fix from Felipe.
