Function media_entity_remote_source actually returns the remote pad to

Name media_entity_remote_pad is more adequate for this function.

609c4c12af [media] cx88: fix NULL pointer dereference
This fixes a NULL pointer deference when loading the cx88_dvb module for a
Hauppauge HVR4000.
The bugzilla bug report is here:
https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56271
The cause is that the wm8775 is optional, so even though the board info says
there is one, it doesn't have to be there. Checking whether the module was
actually loaded is much safer.
Note that this driver is quite buggy when it comes to unloading and reloading
modules. Unloading cx8800 and reloading it again will still cause a crash,
most likely because either the i2c bus isn't unloaded at the right time and/or
the v4l2_device_unregister isn't called at the right time.

55b3318b3a [media] stb0899: allow minimum symbol rate of 2000000
Looks like product datasheets for tuners containing STB0899 are
suggesting specification for min. symbol rate of 2MS/s.
Some specs found here, all suggesting 2MS/s for min. symbol rate:

    Azurewave AD-SP400
      http://www.pulsat.com/products/AzureWave-AD%252dSP400-High-Definition-PC-Card.html
New patch:
This makes minimum symbol rate driver capabilities on par with some
accessible datasheet specifications*, and allows tuning on linux to
transponders that have symbol rate between 2000000-5000000, too.
Patch was tested successfully on Eutelsat 16A transponders that
became reachable with it (2000000 < symbol rate < 5000000):

069ebbfc9e [media] stb0899: fix inversion enum values to match usage with CFR
Throughout the zig-zag-implementations, inversion is taken into
account when reading and writing the CFR register, which contains
the derotator frequency. As swapping IQ signals changes the sign
of that register for example, the idea is to compensate that sign
change by multiplying the register value with the inversion enum
value.
The current enum values 0 and 1 for IQ_SWAP_OFF and IQ_SWAP_ON
don't work in the case IQ_SWAP_OFF, due to the multiplication by
zero (I've only found a single device which actually uses
IQ_SWAP_OFF in it's config).
I've changed the enum values to +1 and -1 to accommodate to the
intended usage.

fa64cfd2fc [media] stb0899: enable auto inversion handling unconditionally
It seems that current inversion handling addresses only the signal
routing on the PCB, i. e. IQ signals are either swapped or not.
But when the device is operated in a Satellite Channel Router (SCR)
environment, an additional inversion is required due to the way how
the SCR works. Therefore it makes sense to me to always enable auto
inversion handling and drop the enum value IQ_SWAP_AUTO.

b4155d7d5b [media] exynos4-is: Ensure fimc-is clocks are not enabled until properly configured
Use clk_prepare_enable/clk_unprepare_disable instead of preparing the
clocks during the driver initalization and then using just clk_disable/
clk_enable. The clock framework doesn't guarantee a clock will not get
enabled during e.g. clk_set_parent if clk_prepare has been called on it.
So we ensure clk_prepare() is called only when it is safe to enable
the clocks, i.e. the parent clocks and the clocks' frequencies are set.
It must be ensured the FIMC-IS clocks have proper frequencies before they
are enabled, otherwise the whole system will hang.

fcb62825e7 [media] coda: replace completion with mutex
Not only do we need to wait for job completion when we want to
call a command on the CODA in start/stop_streaming, we also need
to make sure that a new job doesn't start before the command
finished.
Use a mutex to lock the coda command handling. On timeout, the
device_run job must be marked as finished and the mutex released,
as otherwise coda_release will block.

b96904e50a [media] coda: per-product list of codecs instead of list of formats
This patch adds a list of supported codecs per device type which is used to
determine the allowed pixel formats and maximum frame sizes depending on the
possible codecs. It allows frame sizes larger than 720 x 576 on CODA7 and adds
support for the YVU420 (planar YUV 4:2:0 with switched Cb and Cr) format.
Other uncompressed formats that could be added in the future are the chroma
interleaved NV12 and NV21 formats and the multiplanar variants YUV420M,
YVU420M, NV12M, and NV21M.
Further, rawstreamon is renamed to streamon_out and compstreamon is renamed
to streamon_cap in preparation for decoding support. The maximum encoded
frame buffer size is increased to 1 MiB.
Instead of tracking inst_type and codec across S_FMT calls, set the codec
and inst_type in start_streaming.

fc906b6d18 [media] s5p-mfc: Remove special clock usage in driver
MFC uses two clocks - MFC gate clock and special clock
which is named as "sclk_mfc" in exynos4 and "aclk_333" in
exynos5 SoC. The driver was doing just a clk_prepare on
this special clock without a clk_enable call. As this
sclk is the parent of gate clock, it gets prepared and
enabled along with the gate clock. So there is no need
for the driver to use this sclk. This patch removes the
sclk usage from driver.

591a0ac7f1 OMAPDSS: Fix crash with DT boot
When booting with DT, there's a crash when omapfb is probed. This is
caused by the fact that omapdss+DT is not yet supported, and thus
omapdss is not probed at all. On the other hand, omapfb is always
probed. When omapfb tries to use omapdss, there's a NULL pointer
dereference crash. The same error should most likely happen with omapdrm
and omap_vout also.

To fix this, add an "initialized" state to omapdss. When omapdss has
been probed, it's marked as initialized. omapfb, omapdrm and omap_vout
check this state when they are probed to see that omapdss is actually
there.

6a084d6b3d [media] saa7115: Don't use a dynamic array
At least on s390, gcc complains about that:
    drivers/media/i2c/saa7115.c: In function 'saa711x_detect_chip.constprop.2':
drivers/media/i2c/saa7115.c:1647:1: warning: 'saa711x_detect_chip.constprop.2' uses dynamic stack allocation [enabled by default]

While for me the above report seems utterly bogus, as the
compiler should be optimizing saa711x_detect_chip, merging
it with saa711x_detect_chip and changing:
	char chip_ver[size - 1];
to
	char chip_ver[16];

because this function is only called on this code snippet:
	char name[17];
	...
	ident = saa711x_detect_chip(client, id, name, sizeof(name));

It seems that gcc is not optimizing it, at least on s390.

As getting rid of it is easy, let's do it.

a0f9354b1a [media] media/usb: fix kconfig dependencies
(a.k.a. Kconfig bool depending on a tristate considered harmful)
Fix various build errors when CONFIG_USB=m and media USB drivers
are builtin. In this case, CONFIG_USB_ZR364XX=y,
CONFIG_VIDEO_PVRUSB2=y, and CONFIG_VIDEO_STK1160=y.
This is caused by (from drivers/media/usb/Kconfig):
menuconfig MEDIA_USB_SUPPORT
	bool "Media USB Adapters"
	depends on USB && MEDIA_SUPPORT
	           =m =y
so MEDIA_USB_SUPPORT=y and all following Kconfig 'source' lines
are included. By adding an "if USB" guard around most of this file,
the needed dependencies are enforced.

241d89fce7 [media] saa7115: Add register setup and config for gm7113c
The gm7113c chip is similar to the original saa7113 chip, so I try to
re-use most of the saa7113 specific setup-/configuration registers.
According to the datasheet, the gm7113c chip has not implemented
any register-addresses after 0x1f, so I add a new entry to for the chip
to the saa711x_has_reg function.
The devices I've seen using this chip will fail to get stable video-sync
if these registers are not zeroed:
	R_14_ANAL_ADC_COMPAT_CNTL
	R_15_VGATE_START_FID_CHG
	R_16_VGATE_STOP
	R_17_MISC_VGATE_CONF_AND_MSB

to avoid setting these registers.

Pull i2c changes from Wolfram Sang:

 - an arbitration driver. While the driver is quite simple, it caused
discussion if we need additional arbitration on top of the one
specified in the I2C standard. Conclusion is that I accept a few
generic mechanisms, but not very specific ones.

 - the core lost the detach_adapter() call. It has no users anymore and
was in the way for other cleanups. attach_adapter() is sadly still
there since there are users waiting to be converted.

 - the core gained a bus recovery infrastructure. I2C defines a way to
recover if the data line is stalled. This mechanism is now in the
core and drivers can now pass some data to make use of it.

 - bigger driver cleanups for designware, s3c2410

 - removing superfluous refcounting from drivers

 - removing Ben Dooks as second maintainer due to inactivity. Thanks
for all your work so far, Ben!

 - bugfixes, feature additions, devicetree fixups, simplifications...

This is caused by commit c7a45e5b4f,
that added support for two I2C buses. A partial fix was applied
at 3de09fbbfa, but it doesn't cover
all cases, as the DVB core fills fe->dvb->priv with adapter->priv.

The 'help' section of the Kconfig entry for this driver is missing
an extra alignment. That seems to violate what's stated at:
	Documentation/kbuild/kconfig-language.txt

Even if it works, the better is to add 2 extra spaces there, as
this is the common practice and helps human reading of the file.

Also, the way it is, it breaks backport trees.

f327cabf7f [media] cx25821-alsa: get rid of a __must_check warning
The hole reason for __must_check is to not ignore an error.

However, a "ret" value is used at cx25821 just to avoid the
Kernel compilation to compain about it.

That, however, produces another warning (with W=1):

drivers/media/pci/cx25821/cx25821-alsa.c: In function 'cx25821_audio_fini':
drivers/media/pci/cx25821/cx25821-alsa.c:727:6: warning: variable 'ret' set but not used [-Wunused-but-set-variable]

With the current implementation of driver_for_each_device() and
cx25821_alsa_exit_callback(), there's actually just one
very unlikely condition where it will currently produce
an error: if driver_find() returns NULL.

Ok, there's not much that can be done, as it is on a driver's
function that returns void, but it can at least print some message
if the error happens.

isdbt_sb_subchannel is unsigned with 8 bits. So, it will
never be -1. Instead, any value bigger than 13 is invalid.

As is, the current code generates the following warnings:

drivers/media/dvb-frontends/dib8000.c: In function 'dib8000_set_isdbt_common_channel':
drivers/media/dvb-frontends/dib8000.c:2358:3: warning: comparison is always true due to limited range of data type [-Wtype-limits]

drivers/media/dvb-frontends/dib8000.c:3160:5: warning: comparison is always false

It should also be noticed that ARIB STD-B31, item
"3.15.6.8 Number of segments" at TMCC table defines the
value 15 for unused segment, and 14 as reserved.

So, better to change the check to consider any value
bigger than 13 to mean that sub-channels should be
disabled, fixing the warning and doing the right thing
even if an invalid value is filled by userspace.

c82056d0b4 [media] dib8000: store dtv_property_cache in a temp var
dtv_property_cache is used on several places on very long lines.

On all places it is used, a long list of struct reference is done.

Instead of doing it, at the routines where it is used more than once,
replace it by one temporary var. That may help the compiler to
use a better code. It also makes easier to review the code, as the
lines becomes closer to 80 columns, making them a way clearer
to read.

e41a35cb4b [media] exynos4-is: Unregister fimc-is subdevs from the media device properly
Add missing v4l2_device_unregister_subdev() call for the FIMC-IS subdevs

b2afa23669 [media] exynos4-is: Fix regulator/gpio resource releasing on the driver removal
Remove regulator_bulk_free() calls as devm_regulator_bulk_get() function
is used to get the regulators so those will be freed automatically while
the driver is removed.
Missing gpio free is fixed by requesting a gpio with the devm_* API.
All that is done now in the I2C client driver remove() callback is the
media entity cleanup call.

5ddfbbb9ca [media] cx88: Fix unsafe locking in suspend-resume
Legacy PCI suspend-resume handlers are called with interrupts enabled.

But cx8800_suspend/cx8800_resume and
cx8802_suspend_common/cx8802_resume_common use spin_lock/spin_unlock
functions to acquire dev->slock, while the same lock is acquired in the
corresponding irq-handlers: cx8800_irq and cx8802_irq.

That means a deadlock is possible if an interrupt happens while suspend
or resume owns the lock. The patch replaces spin_lock/spin_unlock with
spin_lock_irqsave/spin_unlock_irqrestore.

52775fd5b5 [media] r820t: Allow disabling IMR callibration
The rtl-sdr library disabled IMR callibration. While I'm not sure
yet why, it could be a good idea to add a modprobe parameter here,
to allow to also disable it. There are two rationale behind it:
- It helps to compare USB dumps between rtl-sdr and the Kernel module;
- If rtl-sdr disabled it, perhaps there's a good reason (e. g. it
might not be actually working, or it might be causing some trouble).
For both cases, it seems useful to add a modprobe parameter to allow
testing the device with both configurations.

Add the code to set the GPIO for this tuner. This code is
currently unused, so it is kept there only for completeness.
With this patch there are just two things that got left from
the original driver:
- At standby, there's another mode, not used by rtl2832u.
Not sure if it might be needed in the future, but I suspect
  it is not used at all;
- There is a "fast tune" mode. As nor DVB or V4L API supports
it, it seems an overkill to implement it.

a877e2771a [media] cx25821: do not expose broken video output streams
The cx25821 driver has support for one audio output channel and two video
output channels.
This is implemented in a very ugly and very evil way through a custom ioctl
that passes the filename of a file containing the video data, which is then
read by the driver itself using vfs.
There are a number of problems with this:
1) it's very ugly and very evil (I can't say that often enough).
2) V4L2 supports video output, so why not use that?
3) it's very buggy, closing the filehandle through which you passed the ioctl
   will oops the kernel.
4) it's a nasty security leak since this allows you to load any file in the
system as a video or audio source, so in theory you can output /etc/passwd
to audio or video out and record & decode it on another device.
Because of all these issues we no longer register those output video nodes.

9a3e89b10f [media] media: davinci: vpss: enable vpss clocks
By default the VPSS clocks were enabled in capture driver
for davinci family which creates duplicates for dm355/dm365/dm644x.
This patch adds support to enable the VPSS clocks in VPSS driver,
which avoids duplication of code and also adding clock aliases.
This patch uses PM runtime API to enable/disable clock, instead
of DaVinci clock framework. con_ids for master and slave clocks of
vpss is added in pm_domain.
This patch cleanups the VPSS clock enabling in the capture driver,
and also removes the clock alias in machine file. Along side adds
a vpss slave clock for DM365 as mentioned by Sekhar
(https://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/1221261/).

3778d05036 [media] media: davinci: kconfig: fix incorrect selects
drivers/media/platform/davinci/Kconfig uses selects where
it should be using 'depends on'. This results in warnings of
the following sort when doing randconfig builds.
warning: (VIDEO_DM6446_CCDC && VIDEO_DM355_CCDC && VIDEO_ISIF && VIDEO_DAVINCI_VPBE_DISPLAY) selects VIDEO_VPSS_SYSTEM which has unmet direct dependencies (MEDIA_SUPPORT && V4L_PLATFORM_DRIVERS && ARCH_DAVINCI)
The VPIF kconfigs had a strange 'select' and 'depends on' cross
linkage which have been fixed as well by removing unneeded
VIDEO_DAVINCI_VPIF config symbol.
Similarly, remove the unnecessary VIDEO_VPSS_SYSTEM and
VIDEO_VPFE_CAPTURE. They don't select any independent functionality
and were being used to manage code dependencies which can
be handled using makefile.
Selecting video modules is now dependent on all ARCH_DAVINCI
instead of specific EVMs and SoCs earlier. This should help build
coverage. Remove unnecessary 'default y' for some config symbols.
While at it, fix the Kconfig help text to make it more readable
and fix names of modules created during module build.
Rename VIDEO_ISIF to VIDEO_DM365_ISIF as per suggestion from
Prabhakar.
This patch has only been build tested; I have tried to not break
any existing assumptions. I do not have the setup to test video,
so any test reports welcome.

dfc2e12df0 [media] tuner-core/simple: get_rf_strength can be tuner mode specific
The get_rf_strength op in tuner-simple is valid only for the radio mode.
But due to the way get_signal in analog_demod_ops was designed it would
overwrite the signal value with a bogus value when in TV mode.
Pass a pointer to the signal value instead, and when not in radio mode
leave it alone in the tuner-simple.
This broke in commit 030755bde4
(tuner-core: call has_signal for both TV and radio) in kernel 3.6. Before
that this was working correctly. That commit did the right thing, but what
wasn't realized at the time was that tuner-simple should have been updated
as well to restrict setting the signal strength to the radio mode only.

The get_afc op in tda9887 is valid only for the radio mode.

Pass a pointer to the afc value instead, and when not in radio mode

d9dda78bad procfs: new helper - PDE_DATA(inode)
The only part of proc_dir_entry the code outside of fs/proc
really cares about is PDE(inode)->data. Provide a helper
for that; static inline for now, eventually will be moved
to fs/proc, along with the knowledge of struct proc_dir_entry
layout.

752a62b2ec [media] cx24123: improve precision when calculating symbol rate ratio
Symbol rate ratio were using a rough calculus, as the code was
limited to 32 bits arithmetic. Change it to 64 bits, in order
to better estimate the bandwidth low-pass filter on the demod.
This should reduce the noise and improve reception.

0562aef296 [media] mb86a20s: better name temp vars at mb86a20s_layer_bitrate()
Using 'i' for the guard interval temporary var is a bad idea, as
'i' is generally used by "anonymous" indexes.
Let's rename modulation, fec and guard interval temp vars with
a meaningful name, as that makes easier to understand the code
and avoids cut-and-paste types of error.

b1f8933119 [media] mb86a20s: Fix estimate_rate setting
As reported by Dan Carpenter <dan.carpenter@oracle.com>:
        Smatch warnings:
        drivers/media/dvb-frontends/mb86a20s.c:644 mb86a20s_layer_bitrate() error: buffer overflow 'state->estimated_rate' 3 <= 3
What happens there is that estimate_rate index should be the layer
number, and not the guard interval.

5cb88ca84a [media] mb86a20s: Use 'layer' instead of 'i' on all places
We're using the anonymous 'i' to indicate the layer number
on several places on the driver. That's not good, as some
cut-and-paste type of change might be doing the wrong thing.
So, call it as "layer" everywhere.
