There are a couple of problems with named group updates in the code today: * sysfs_update_group() will always fail for a named group, because internal_create_group() will try to create a new sysfs directory unconditionally, which will ofcourse fail with -EEXIST. * We can leak the kernfs_node for grp->name if some one tries to: - rename a group (change grp->name), or - update a named group, to an unnamed group It appears that the whole purpose of sysfs_update_group() was to allow changing the permissions or visibility of attributes and not the names. Linux kernel

There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
