[b]Note:[/b] This method lerps through the shortest path between [code]from[/code] and [code]to[/code]. However, when these two angles are approximately [code]PI + k * TAU[/code] apart for any integer [code]k[/code], it's not obvious which way they lerp due to floating-point precision errors. For example, [code]lerp_angle(0, PI, weight)[/code] lerps counter-clockwise, while [code]lerp_angle(0, PI + 5 * TAU, weight)[/code] lerps clockwise.

Color tags only support named colors such as [code]red[/code], [i]not[/i] hexadecimal color codes. Unsupported tags will be left as-is in standard output.
When printing to standard output, the supported subset of BBCode is converted to ANSI escape codes for the terminal emulator to display. Hints that an integer or float property should be within a range specified via the hint string [code]"min,max"[/code] or [code]"min,max,step"[/code]. The hint string can optionally include [code]"or_greater"[/code] and/or [code]"or_lesser"[/code] to allow manual input going respectively above the max or below the min values. Example: [code]"-360,360,1,or_greater,or_lesser"[/code].
2022-06-24 10:45:34 +02:00
Additionally, other keywords can be included: "exp" for exponential range editing, "radians" for editing radian angles in degrees, "degrees" to hint at an angle and "no_slider" to hide the slider.
2017-09-12 22:42:36 +02:00
</constant>
Fix editor suffixes and degrees conversion
* Functions to convert to/from degrees are all gone. Conversion is done by the editor.
* Use PROPERTY_HINT_ANGLE instead of PROPERTY_HINT_RANGE to edit radian angles in degrees.
* Added possibility to add suffixes to range properties, use "min,max[,step][,suffix:<something>]" example "0,100,1,suffix:m"
* In general, can add suffixes for EditorSpinSlider
Not covered by this PR, will have to be addressed by future ones:
* Ability to switch radians/degrees in the inspector for angle properties (if actually wanted).
* Animations previously made will most likely break, need to add a way to make old ones compatible.
* Only added a "px" suffix to 2D position and a "m" one to 3D position, someone needs to go through the rest of the engine and add all remaining suffixes.
* Likely also need to track down usage of EditorSpinSlider outside properties to add suffixes to it too.

2022-03-23 09:19:22 +01:00
Hints that an integer, float or string property is an enumerated value to pick in a list specified via a hint string.
The hint string is a comma separated list of names such as [code]"Hello,Something,Else"[/code]. For integer and float properties, the first name in the list has value 0, the next 1, and so on. Explicit values can also be specified by appending [code]:integer[/code] to the name, e.g. [code]"Zero,One,Three:3,Four,Six:6"[/code].

If you need to create an [Array] to contain elements of a specific type, the [code]hint_string[/code] must encode nested types using [code]":"[/code] and [code]"/"[/code] for specifying [Resource] types. For instance:
[codeblock]
hint_string = "%s:" % [TYPE_INT] # Array of inteters.
hint_string = "%s:%s:" % [TYPE_ARRAY, TYPE_REAL] # Two-dimensional array of floats.
hint_string = "%s/%s:Resource" % [TYPE_OBJECT, TYPE_OBJECT] # Array of resources.

Implement Running Godot as Movie Writer
* Allows running the game in "movie writer" mode.
* It ensures entirely stable framerate, so your run can be saved stable and with proper sound (which is impossible if your CPU/GPU can't sustain doing this in real-time).
* If disabling vsync, it can save movies faster than the game is run, but if you want to control the interaction it can get difficult.
* Implements a simple, default MJPEG writer.
This new features has two main use cases, which have high demand:
* Saving game videos in high quality and ensuring the frame rate is *completely* stable, always.
* Using Godot as a tool to make movies and animations (which is ideal if you want interaction, or creating them procedurally. No other software is as good for this).
**Note**: This feature **IS NOT** for capturing real-time footage. Use something like OBS, SimpleScreenRecorder or FRAPS to achieve that, as they do a much better job at intercepting the compositor than Godot can probably do using Vulkan or OpenGL natively. If your game runs near real-time when capturing, you can still use this feature but it will play no sound (sound will be saved directly).
Usage:
$ godot --write-movie movie.avi [scene_file.tscn]
Missing:
* Options for configuring video writing via GLOBAL_DEF
* UI Menu for launching with this mode from the editor.
* Add to list of command line options.
* Add a feature tag to override configurations when movie writing (fantastic for saving videos with highest quality settings).

Packets must be received and resend attempts should be made until the packets are acknowledged. Packets must be received in the order they were sent in. Most reliable transfer mode, but potentially the slowest due to the overhead. Use for critical data that must be transmitted and arrive in order, for example an ability being triggered or a chat message. Consider carefully if the information really is critical, and use sparingly.
