Depending on the device implementation, editor actions could be
received with different action ids or not at all for multi-line.
Added a parameter to virtual keyboards to properly handle single-line
and multi-line cases in all situations.
Single-line:
Input type set to text without multiline to make sure actions are sent.
IME options are set to DONE action to force action id consistency.
Multi-line:
Input type set to text and multiline to make sure enter triggers new lines.
Actions are disabled by the multiline flag, so '\n' characters are
handled in text changed callbacks.
Configured for a max line length of 120 characters.
psf/black is very opinionated and purposely doesn't leave much room for
configuration. The output is mostly OK so that should be fine for us,
but some things worth noting:
- Manually wrapped strings will be reflowed, so by using a line length
of 120 for the sake of preserving readability for our long command
calls, it also means that some manually wrapped strings are back on
the same line and should be manually merged again.
- Code generators using string concatenation extensively look awful,
since black puts each operand on a single line. We need to refactor
these generators to use more pythonic string formatting, for which
many options are available (`%`, `format` or f-strings).
- CI checks and a pre-commit hook will be added to ensure that future
buildsystem changes are well-formatted.

Affects per-pixel transparency
The current method renders to the screen by copying the GLES output to a
DIB for transparency using the CPU instead of rendering directly to the
window via the GPU. This is slower and also forces the window to be borderless
as WS_EX_LAYERED affects the non-client region as well.
This change uses DWMEnableBlurBehindWindow which allows using the standard
glClearColor() background alpha and is also performed through the GPU,
eliminating CPU bottlenecks
Namely, move the drive dropdown to just the left of the path text box and don't include the former
in the latter.
This improves the UX on Windows.
In the UNIX case, since its concept of drives is (ab)used to provide shortcuts to useful paths, its
dropdown is kept at the original location.
Pith bend message now has correct size (was 2 bytes instead of 3).
Recognized (but not implemented) 0xF? messages. SysEx messages will be reocognized as such, but their contents will be ignored.
Happy new year to the wonderful Godot community!
We're starting a new decade with a well-established, non-profit, free
and open source game engine, and tons of further improvements in the
pipeline from hundreds of contributors.
Godot will keep getting better, and we're looking forward to all the
games that the community will keep developing and releasing with it.
This makes it possible to know whether the window is focused
at a given time, without having to track the focus state manually
using `NOTIFICATION_WM_FOCUS_IN` and `NOTIFICATION_WM_FOCUS_OUT`.
This partially addresses #33928.
Condensed some if and ERR statements. Added dots to end of error messages
Couldn't figure out EXPLAINC. These files gave me trouble: core/error_macros.h, core/io/file_access_buffered_fa.h (where is it?),
core/os/memory.cpp,
drivers/png/png_driver_common.cpp,
drivers/xaudio2/audio_driver_xaudio2.cpp (where is it?)
So far we left most temporary files lying around, so this attempts to
fix that.
I added a helper method to DirAccess to factor out the boilerplate of
creating a DirAccess, checking if the file exists, remove it or print
an error on failure.
Fixes this warning:
```
./core/os/dir_access.h:74:17: warning: 'virtual String DirAccess::get_next(bool*)' was hidden [-Woverloaded-virtual]
Part of #30790.
Godot core needs MD5/SHA256/AES/Base64 which used to be provided by
separate libraries.
Since we bundle mbedtls in most cases, and we can easily only include
the needed sources if we so desire, let's use it.
To simplify library changes in the future, and better isolate header
dependencies all functions have been wrapped around inside a class in
`core/math/crypto_base.h`.
If the mbedtls module is disabled, we only bundle the needed source
files independently of the `builtin_mbedtls` option.
If the module is enabled, the `builtin_mbedtls` option works as usual.
Also remove some unused headers from StreamPeerMbedTLS which were
causing build issues.
All 100% completed: MainLoop, Node, Object, Path, Performance,
Reference, Resource, SceneState, SceneTree, UndoRedo.
Also fixed some en_GB occurrences as the reference spelling is en_US.
This is an editor setting and its value can also be toggled
using an entry in the Editor toolbar. The console will still
appear briefly when starting the project manager or editor,
as it's still compiled as console application.
Does not impact exported games, which will still run without
console in release and with console in debug mode.
A project setting or export option could be added to disable
it in debug mode if there's demand for it, but that would
greatly reduce the usefulness of debug builds if Windows users
can no longer report error and crash messages.
Relying on various compiler primitives we can reduce the work done
in our memory allocators and CowData. For types with trivial ctors or
dtors we can skip looping over all elements when creating, resizing,
and destroying lists of objects.
These primitives are supported by clang, msvc, and GCC. However, once
we've moved to C++11 we can rely on several std:: primitives that do
the same thing and are standardized.
In my testing the extra conditionals introduced here get removed from
the generated program entirely as the results for these primitives is
known at compile time.
This allows more consistency in the manner we include core headers,
where previously there would be a mix of absolute, relative and
include path-dependent includes.
Use a Microsoft recommended way of process termination for the project
process run from the editor. This allows loaded DLLs to receive and handle
DLL_PROCESS_DETACH notification and cleanup any global state before the
process actually exits.
This commit makes operator[] on Vector const and adds a write proxy to it. From
now on writes to Vectors need to happen through the .write proxy. So for
instance:
Vector<int> vec;
vec.push_back(10);
std::cout << vec[0] << std::endl;
vec.write[0] = 20;
Failing to use the .write proxy will cause a compilation error.
In addition COWable datatypes can now embed a CowData pointer to their data.
This means that String, CharString, and VMap no longer use or derive from
Vector.
_ALWAYS_INLINE_ and _FORCE_INLINE_ are now equivalent for debug and non-debug
builds. This is a lot faster for Vector in the editor and while running tests.
The reason why this difference used to exist is because force-inlined methods
used to give a bad debugging experience. After extensive testing with modern
compilers this is no longer the case.
-Project/Editor settings now show tooltips properly
- Breaks into debugger with Ctrl-C in local debug mode (Unix/Windows)
- Added option to list all breakpoints
- Fixes add/remove breakpoint bug (invalid path parsing)
Now generating mouse events from touch is optional (on by default) and it's performed by `InputDefault` instead of having each OS abstraction doing it. (*)
The translation algorithm waits for a touch index to be pressed and tracks it translating its events to mouse events until it is raised, while ignoring other pointers.
Furthermore, to avoid an stuck "touch mouse", since not all platforms may report touches raised when the window is unfocused, it checks if touches are still down by the time it's focused again and if so it resets the state of the emulated mouse.
*: In the case of Windows, since it already provides touch-to-mouse translation by itself, "echo" mouse events are filtered out to have it working like the rest.
On X11 a little hack has been needed to avoid a case of a spurious mouse motion event that is generated during touch interaction.
Plus: Improve/fix tracking of current mouse position.
** Summary of changes to settings: **
- `display/window/handheld/emulate_touchscreen` becomes `input/pointing_devices/emulate_touch_from_mouse`
- New setting: `input/pointing_devices/emulate_mouse_from_touch`
Starting from April 2018 Apple no longer accepts apps that do not
support iPhone X. For games this mainly means respecting the safe area,
unobstructed by notch and virtual home button. UI controls must be
placed within the safe area so that users can interact with them.
This commit:
- Adds OS::get_window_safe_area method that returns unobscured area of
the window, where interactive controls should be rendered.
- Reorganizes how launch screens are exported - the previous way was
incorrect and modern iPhones did not pick up the correct screens and
because of that used a non-native resolution to render the game.
- Adds launch screen options for iPhone X.
- Makes launch screens optional in the export template. If not
specified, a white screen will be used.
- Adds App Store icon (1024x1024) export option as it now has to be
bundled with the app instead of being provided in iTunes Connect.
- Fixes crash when launching games in iOS Simulator. It happened because
controllerWasConnected callback came before the engine was
initialized. Now in such case the controllers will be queued up and
registered after initialization is done.
- Fixes issue with the virtual keyboard where for some reason
autocorrection panel would intersect with the keyboard itself and not
allow you to use the top row of the keyboard. This is fixed by
disabling autocorrection altogether.
